Each one of us are flesh and blood physically sojourning through this land. We are each on a spiritual journey whether we admit it or not.  Our flesh as well as our souls have needs that must be met in order to live now and in order to live eternally.

We just celebrated our Savior’s arrival as flesh to the world that He had created.  He arrived humbly and was placed in a habitation fashioned for animals.  His impending arrival had been pronounced for generations yet very few were watching and waiting for Him. A small gathering of meager shepherds joined His earthly parents in welcoming Him.  They took time to appreciate His arrival, to worship His presence among them and then went out to share this amazing, world changing news.  Others were blissfully asleep inside the inn, having turned away His parents and missing the opportunity of inviting in the glory of the Lord.

Are you admitting your spiritual journey exists? Has your need been met on this journey?  Do you know the one Way to eternal life is trusting in Jesus, the Savior that clothed Himself in flesh to meet your need? Do you gather as the shepherds did to appreciate His arrival and to worship His holy presence?  Do you go out as the shepherds did sharing the Good News of the Savior’s life-giving arrival? Are you blissfully asleep turning away opportunities to invite Christ into every area of your home and your life so that He may be glorified? Are you anticipating His return?

Do you have a vacancy for Him or are you all full? Are you awake or are you asleep?  We each must answer.  Pray to be full of His presence and His desires, emptying self of selfish desires.  Pray to be awake to His love, worshiping Him, seeing His hand moving in your life.  Have the desire to share and then also to marvel at all that is shared about His great name. Stay awake to His impending return?
